Christopher C. Calkins

Mr. Calkins is Chief Executive Officer and President of Carltas Management, the corporate general partner of Carltas Company. He is also President of CB Ranch Enterprises, which owns and operates The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch®. Prior to 1986, he was a partner of the law firm Gray, Cary, Ames & Frye (now DLA Piper), continuing counsel to the firm until 1991. He was a member of the Planning Commission of the City of San Diego from 1987-92. Mr. Calkins is a director of Armstrong Garden Centers, and H.G. Fenton Company. In addition he is a trustee of Occidental College, the Thomas C. Ackerman Foundation, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. He was a founding director and vice chair of Scripps Bank until its acquisition by US Bank in 2000.


John C. White

Mr. White is the President of Carltas Development Company, a California corporation, and the Manager of Carltas Investments, L.P., a California limited partnership. Mr. White is primarily responsible for company real estate activities including sales, leasing and marketing. He also has major responsibilities in the development of projects and land management. Mr. White began his association with Carltas Company in May 1987 after twelve years as an active industrial/commercial real estate broker in North San Diego County. He held the title of Senior Sales Consultant with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate (now CB Richard Ellis, Inc.). Mr. White holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition, Mr. White is the past chairman of the Board of Managers of the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, and is actively involved in other community organizations.

James R. Bornemann

Mr. Bornemann is Chief Financial Officer of Carltas Company and its related entities. He joined Carltas Company in 1997, helping the company transition from a planning and entitlement concern to a company focused on commercial and real estate development opportunities. Mr. Bornemann has primary responsibilities in accounting and finance as well as being one of three senior managers directing development activities for the company. Prior to joining Carltas Company he was SVP Finance with Brookfield Homes and Pacific Scene. Mr. Bornemann holds a BA in Physics from the California Lutheran University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Paul Ecke Ranch and California Community Bank. Formerly, he served on the Board of Directors of Discovery Isle Child Development Center.
